Within the scientific plan of the Department of Mathematics for the academic year 2023-2024 and as an extension of the series of seminars in the field of using mathematics to solve problems in other fields of science, for example computer science (image processing), a scientific seminar entitled (Adapted Anisotropic Network Algorithm) was held in the Mathematics Department. The teacher, Dr. Karar Kazem Abbas, one of the teachers in the Mathematics Department, lectured in it, where the researcher touched on a group of topics, the most important of which are: images and how to segment them, then their importance and applications, and how to segment images using the partial differential equation model, and the Anisotropic Mesh Adaptation algorithm, as well as Show the initial results and compare them with the classical finite difference algorithm

Then the researcher showed how to use the anisotropic mesh adaptation algorithm to represent the image and the Finite Element Method to solve the partial differential equation model. Then compare the new algorithm with the traditional algorithm that is solved using the finite difference method. The adaptive anisotropic mesh algorithm has proven its efficiency by obtaining faster and better results without having to resize images to lower quality. At the end of the session, questions has been asked, and some professors asked a group of scientific questions related to the subject, all of which were answered by the researcher after extensive scientific discussions..
