A Lecture Entitled (The sermon of Imam Al-Sajjad, peace be upon him, in Damascus, documented and analyzed)

The Department of Arabic Language at the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Kufa held a scientific and intellectual lecture in which it dealt with documenting and analyzing the sermon of Imam Al-Sajjad, peace be upon him, in Damascus. In terms of documentation, the research proved that the oldest person to report the sermon was Ahmed bin A’tham Al-Kufi, who died in the year (317 AH) in His book Al-Futuh… As for the analysis of the sermon, the research showed how Imam Zain Al-Abidin, peace be upon him, was able to change the direction of the recipients from enemies ecstatic about victory to another direction, so that he made them sympathize with him and in pain for what happened to them in the Al-Taf incident, and disavowed those who killed their men and took their families captive… and that was not the case. This would have happened had it not been for the imam’s rhetorical ability and his ability to use rhetorical techniques effectively.
